Welcome to Purr-fect Pet Solutions, your go-to hub for pet insights, where we help you navigate pet challenges with confidence! Whether you're a first time pet owner or a pro, we’re here to equip you with the knowledge and tools you need to totally boss pet life.

Leaving your fur-baby behind can be scary, so we devised the purr-fect checklist to help you find suitable pet care for your family.

  1. Experience

When finding care for our furry family members, we want to find pet sitters with previous experience. Pets come with many needs and can be a lot of work. We want to ensure whoever we choose is up for the task!

You may also want to evaluate if they have experience with your specific pets’ breed. For example, if you have a husky, you want a pet sitter that is able to match their energy level and is prepared for the behaviors that can pop up. Some breeds can become destructive if not given an effective energy outlet. We don’t want to come home to the garbage spilled all over the floor or our favorite shoes in a million pieces. Each breed comes with their own quirks and traits and you want your sitter to be knowledgeable with these characteristics.

2. Communication

A good pet sitter will have good communication skills. They should be reachable and responsive from the first interaction throughout the entire booking. From sharing the booking process to explaining how the booking will go to keeping us in the loop, when we aren’t there. We love our fur-babies and we want to know the sitter we chose can keep us up to date on our pets’ well being while we’re away. A message stating that they popped in and all is well or a picture update, during the stay, is a great way for the pet sitter to keep us informed.

3. Emergency Situations

Is your pet sitter ready to handle emergencies? Our pet sitters should ask for vet information at the time of booking, this shows that they are prepared to navigate things gone awry. We want a quick thinker, someone who can handle stressful situations. Having vet information on hand is a great first step to taking immediate action when it really counts.

4. Accommodation

It’s important that your pet sitter can accommodate the needs of your pet, physically, emotionally, and medically. Leaving our fur babies is stressful for us, but for our pets, it’s like their world has been flipped upside down. Our pets often feel like we aren’t coming back for them, like we just packed up and left for good. They are easily shaken and stress lowers the immune system, which can cause serious illness in our pets. When we can’t be there to comfort them, it’s vital that the sitter keeps things as routine as possible.

5. Respect and Trustworthy

Allowing someone into the privacy of your home and the care of your best friend can be nerve wracking, which is why it’s crucial that person is trustworthy and respectful of our pets’ boundaries and our home. They should also respect our care instructions for our pets. We know our pets best, and it’s important that our pet sitter comply with those guidelines.

6. Love and Passion

A first-rate pet sitter is full of love and patience for animals. Our pet sitters should have a passion for pet care; we want to know that our pets are receiving all the love and snuggles when we can’t be there to do it ourselves!

Conclusion

When we need a pet sitter, we want to make a proper choice. There’s nothing worse than coming back from vacation to find out your care instructions were neglected and in turn so was your fur-baby. Our pets are family and should be given the finest care available. Find a pet sitter that matches these characteristics because your pet deserves the best.
